N.Y. BLACKOUT: Power Restored After Massive Outage
Written by KingCnote on July 15, 2019
New York City attempted to get back to normal Sunday after power was restored late Saturday after a huge blackout left parts of the city in darkness.
According to a statement released by power company Con Edison, more than 72,000 customers in a 30-block area from Times Square to the Upper West side were affected.
The blackouts started just before 7 p.m. Saturday and lasted until just before midnight.
While Con Edison was still trying to determine what caused the outage, Mayor Bill de Blasio said it was caused by a “mechanical issue” and there was no foul play suspected. (USA Today)
