Now we know where North West got her talent for painting. According to Page Six, an art collector has bought her dad Kanye West’s artwork from this teen years.
Entrepreneur Vinoda Basnayake reportedly “tracked down” the rapper’s “paintings and drawings after seeing the pieces on an episode of PBS’s Antiques Roadshow.”
A source says, “Kanye’s cousin owned the trove, which was created by Kanye during his days as a student at Polaris School [in Chicago].”
Basnayake won’t say how much the trove cost, but the works were appraised for around $16,000 to $23,000 on the PBS show.
The news comes only a few days after Kim Kardashian defended one of North’s paintings from critics who didn’t believe the 7-year-old did it on her own.
