DEMI LOVATO: Overwhelmed With Emotion at *Grammys*
Written by KingCnote on January 27, 2020
Demi Lovato became overwhelmed performing her cry-for-help-anthem, “Anyone,” for the first time at the Grammys.
Emotions got the best of her during the opening lines. She collected herself after that false start and nodded to the pianist to go again from the top.
The song was written in 2018 as she struggled with her addictions. Four days later, Demi would overdose and nearly die. “Anyone” reveals her state of mind at the time, which was desperate for help from anyone.
Before the Grammys, Demi told BBC radio host Zane Lowe (quote) “I was in denial. Now I listen back and hear these lyrics as a cry for help. You kinda think, How did nobody listen to this song and say, ‘Let’s help this girl.’” (Too Fab)
