UPDATE (12:40 a.m. ET): If you scoffed at Sean Spicer’s inclusion on the show, you weren’t alone. Host Tom Bergeron wasn’t happy about it either as he explained in a tweet today. He says he asked producers to keep politics out of the show so that this season could be “a joyful respite from our exhaustive political climate and free of inevitably divisive bookings from ANY political affiliations,” but in the end a decision was made to “go in a different direction.”
The full lineup of celebrities for the 28th season of Dancing With the Stars was officially introduced today on Good Morning America.
The cast includes actors, sports stars, reality stars, singers, a supermodel and a former member of the Trump administration. Vying for the mirror ball trophy will be James Van Der Beek, Christie Brinkley, country star Lauren Alaina, NFL Hall of Famer Ray Lewis, former NBA star Lamar Odom, comedian Kel Mitchell, former Fifth Harmony member Ally Brooke, The Office star Kate Flannery, “Bachelorette” Hannah Brown, “Queer Eye” star Karamo Brown, Mary Wilson of The Supremes, and former White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer.
Season 28 of Dancing With the Stars premieres Monday, September 16th on ABC.
