Anticipation for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker could not be higher. The saga concludes 42 years ago after the original Star Wars movie. The Rise of Skywalker arrives on 4,300 theaters. Revenue could surpass $200 million. Preview screenings start Thursday night.
The film adaptation of the Andrew Lloyd Webber musical Cats arrives on 3,200 screens and might make $20 million. The ensemble cast includes pop stars Taylor Swift, Jason Derulo, Jennifer Hudson plus accomplished actors Idris Elba, Rebel Wilson, Judi Dench, Ian McKellen and talk show host James Corden.
Debuting this weekend, Bombshell focuses on the sexual harassment scandal at FOX News that forced the retirement of Roger Ailes. Bombshell may earn Academy Award nominations for actresses Charlize Theron, Nicole Kidman and Margot Robbie. In its opening weekend, Bombshell is predicted to make $10 million. (The Wrap)
